Job Objective:

• System Engineer (Storage, Backup, AntiVirus) is responsible to provide all data center operational support related to KMBL storage, backup activities across the Bank.

Data Center Operations:

• Analyze, design, implement and support Enterprise level storages and backup infrastructure, architecture that ensure high levels of data quality and availability.
• Storage Arrays Administration, Configuration & management.
• Storage firmware updating as per requirements.
• Tuning and space reclamation on storage.
• Creating the LUNs and resizing them.
• Performance monitoring for storages.
• Managing duplication.
• Ensuring equal level of storage pools utilization.
• LUN mapping with the servers.
• FC Switches Administration, Management, Configuration and Monitoring.
• Creating and managing Zones.
• Physical FC connectivity with the hosts and FC switches.
• Configuration and administration of Master server.
• Configuration and administration of Media server.
• Ensuring to back up the data of all the critical applications.
• Policy Creation. (one time and scheduled).
• Backup Selection. (one time and scheduled).
• Backing on Demand data backup.
• Agent Installation on window Linux clients.
• Configuration of universal shares and assigning to hosts.
• Configuration of MSDP.
• Restoration of data.
• Tape library management & administration (Physical and Tapes).
• Expert backup ( NetBackup).
• Vendor Coordination regarding issue resolution.
• Problem escalation.
• Agent Installation.
• Firmware updates whenever required as per process approval.
• Vendor coordination whenever required.
• Patching on OS & Backup Management software on requirement.
• Administrating Antivirus Server.
• Monitor and update anti-virus definition files for servers and clients.
• maintain schedules.
• patched up the recent vulnerability to resist the 0 days attack.
• HA maintain and replication status.
• Creating GUPs for associated clients.
• Defining policies and updating.
• Installation of AV agents.
• Pushing AV updates to clients.
• Routine Tasks for smooth operations.
• Vendor coordination and engagement.
• OS & AV patching on AV server.
• Providing AV related reports.
• Problem escalation and resolution.
• Monitoring and reporting for data backup management solution.
• Assist in establishing standards, policies, and procedures that apply to the use of the data protection technologies.
• Develop plans for keeping storage & backup systems application software, firmware and clients at latest release levels.
• Review daily reports on the status of centralized storage and backup jobs, providing management with dashboards that provide visibility in the overall operation and performance of the storage & backup environment.
• Prepare disaster recovery plans and enforce backup and archival procedures for security and reliability of bank data.
• Responsible for all critical applications/systems/data backups and recoveries in bank Data Centers (both at primary and Disaster Recovery sites).
• Maintain and reduce costs by leveraging the right solution for required storage & backup workloads.
• Monitor all virtual environments (VMware etc.) and make adjustments as necessary in order to ensure optimum performance, reliability, disaster recovery and uptime.
• Additional relevant duties as assigned by IT management.
• Engaging vendors to fix and resolve the issues on SAN storage and data backup solution.
• Taking principles in loop to ensure smooth working of storage and data backup solution (if required.).

IT Compliance & Support:

• Implement and ensure full compliance of policy and procedures of Data Center storage and backup requirements.
• Report regular and detailed progress reports to the senior management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Data Center Manager.
• Report to systems Manager, the status of all events as per the escalation procedures.
• Assist the systems manager regarding implementation of applicable Policies and procedures.
• Branch and Corporate User Support.
• Administration and Management, Configuration and Monitoring VMware and Hyper-v infrastructure.
• Creating and managing VMs.
• Mapping Data Stores in virtual infrastructure.
• Creating & managing virtual switches.
• Resource allocation.
• Storage migration .
• Administration and Management, Configuration and Monitoring of Core Data Center Application and Servers.
• Managing Active Directory.
• Exchange servers.
• Terminal Servers.
• Print Servers.
• GFI Servers.
• File Servers (Corporate & Branch).

Education:

• Master in IT/ Engineering/ Computer Science from a reputed HEC-recognized university/institution.

Skills:

• Designing building and maintaining Storage and data backup solutions in an enterprise level setup.
• Working knowledge of SAN systems, FC, FCoE and ISCSI storage connectivity, backup, replication, security and protection of data.
• Developed and implemented Storage replication procedures for replication of storage from primary to DR sites.
• Skilled in Red Hat & Oracle Linux and Windows.
• Should have ability to schedule & script the routine jobs, experience with automation tools to schedule the routine jobs and minimize manual interventions is a plus.
• Must have worked in an enterprise environment in excess of 200 servers.
• Ability to work independently on projects and duties without constant supervision.
• Experience with data protection and backup solutions, business continuity/disaster recovery process, creating and maintaining disaster recovery documentation, configuration details and software’s necessary for recovery.

• Willing to work in different shifts.

Duration & Nature of Previous Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with 2-3 years of experience in a similar position or equivalent in a large organization with multi-branch architecture.
